Skip Weinstock, Piano

Skip Weinstock has been playing jazz piano since the age of 13, and has performed in fine restaurants and clubs in Manhattan for over thirty years. The Jazz Brokers continues the tradition of modern mainstream jazz in a swinging ensemble.


Craig Purpura, Tenor Sax

Craig studied and performed with the Cecil Taylor Black Music Ensemble, in addition to recording on the Charles Mingus album "Something Like a Bird."  He has also recorded two albums as a leader: "Fifth Floor Walk-Up" and "Iguana Iguana", and performed on recent recordings of Pat Tomasso and Simpatico and the Conigliaro Consort.  Craig is currently a member of the Westchester Swing Band and the Bensen-Scott Big Band. He has recently performed at the Beanrunner Café and 12 Grapes (Peekskill, NY), The Shrine World Music Venue (NYC), and Smalls Jazz Club (NYC). 


Fernando Martinez, Bass

Fernando Martinez hails from Venezuela. He studies with the noted jazz guitarist Kenny Wessel, and is a steady fixture at the New York Jazz Workshop. Fernando has performed at City College, Red Lion, Silvana, Over the 8th, Williamsburg Music Center, and Club Bonafide, NYC.


Artie Durant, Drums

Artie Durant began studying drums at the age of 11 at a local music store in the Bronx. He grew up in the same neighborhood as jazz pianist, Kenny Drew, Jr., and played club dates with him for twenty years during the 80′s and 90′s. Artie is a member of the Drummers’ Collective.
